
The guitars were on their stands, plugged in and tuned, and anyone who wanted could pick one up and play it. It is the most direct way to understand a handmade instrument, and the only one that cannot be put into words: a neck either sits right in your hand or it does not, and you know within ten seconds.
In the room there were a Tele Modern, a white Tele Thinline and a Strato. On the screen behind them ran photographs of the making: where you start from, what is inside a body before it is closed.
